April 2008 Mike Day Celebrates His 60th in Style

Mike Day decided to celebrate his 60th Birthday in style by taking on the C2C. It wasn't long befor family and friends decided to join him. We wish then all luck in completing the ride. News came through from Mike that they all finished the ride on his birthday, and were looking forward to a celebratory meal with their respective partners at Lumley Castle! Cheers Mike!

Nearly a Round Trip

David and Peter Round were joined by family member Paul Staifield on their Coast to Coast trip, ably supported by Vicky and Joy Round. Unfortunately they were one man short as the final member of the team was on Airport duties with the police, and had his leave cancelled.

The Beezers Arriving at Near Howe

Margaret Beezer brought her Gary son with her to tackle the Cost to Coast route for a second time. Margaret said that Gary was being very gentle with her, and despite the punctures, all was going well.

Riders go there and back for the New Hunstanton Lifeboat Appeal

Nick Skerritt, proprietor of the King William IV in Sedgeford, Norfolk, prepared to set his 70 year old father-in-law Wim Euwe and head chef Richard Briscoe of on their return trip. The guys were part way through doing the C2C form East to West and then West to East in just four and a half days. They arrived at Near Howe after completeing an 85 mile leg from Hesket Newmarket, via the coast at Whitehaven and back to stay with us at Mingrisdale.

Nick said that the team were on target to make a total of £5,000 for the New Hunstanton Lifeboat Appeal. Good Luck Lads!
