Driving Through Kathmandu

Driving anywhere in Kathmandu is a real experience. It's the only place I have been to where I wouldn't ever consider driving. This is one of the better roads, the government have just decided to widen all the major roads at the same time over the next 2 years, and are doing so by knocking the fronts of the buildings off by hand!

One of the Worst Sections of Road Driving to the Manaslu Circuit

Most of the final section of the approach to the Manaslu Circuit was on rough tracks, this was one of the worst!

Our First Glimpse of Manaslu

Walking along this typical track with an uncharacteristically good surface, we get our first glimpse of Manaslu with its peak surrounded by gathering clouds.

A Really Dodgy Bridge on the Manaslu Circuit

This bridge was one of the poorest on the trip. The background noise which sounds like radio interference is the sound of the water rushing past below, and was a constant feature of the first 10 days of the trip.

Porter Power

Who needs the AA when you have porter power. When we came across a broken down Jeep blocking our path they just picked it up and moved it out of the way!

After moving it out of the way, our bus just managed to sneak past. and away we went.

Everest Flight

As we are so close to Everest when in Kathmandu we managed to take a flight round the area.

An amazing trip from Kathmandu up the spine of the Himalayas to Everest and back. A trip of a lifetime! Everest is the tallest mountain left of the centre of the still shot below.
