Near Howe Revised Plans Approved
The Lake District National Parks Authority Planning Committee approved the revised Near Howe Plans at their Meeting on 4 November 2008.
We are now in our third season at Near Howe, and have decided that we would now like to make some changes to the way that the business operates. As from the start of the 2009 season, our aim is to concentrate our efforts on expanding the Self Catering business by applying for permission to replace the guest numbers in our Guest House with an equivelent number within new Self Catering cottages. The proposals also provide purpose built disabled facilities, which are not currently available at Near Howe. They also achieve a clean and safe separation of family accommodation from guest accommodation which is essential for the safety and well being of their growing family.
Our initial Plans were knocked back by the planners; however, after detailed discussions the plans have been amended, they now have officer approval, and are expected to go to committee in November.
Plans are available on the National Parks Site.

Steve Jill and the Girls are now the proud owners of Rough-n-Tumble, a 23.5 foot Ruffian sailing yacht. It is currently moored just past Sharrow Bay on Ullswater, and the family are joining Ullswater Yacht Club, where Steve sailed with his dad may moons ago! Everyone is looking forward to some great fun on the water!
